Anne-talizing Anne-Marie Johnson was born in Los Angeles, California. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in Acting and Theatre. Her first screen appearance was way back in 1971 on the TV series Homicide. From there, she acted in shows like Matlock Police (1972) and Division 4 (1973). Then she took a break, presumably to focus on her studies, and reappeared on the boob tube in a 1984 episode of Diff’rent Strokes. After a spot on the TV movie His Mistress (1984) and extended runs on the series Double Trouble (1984) and Hill Street Blues (1984), Anne-Marie struck TV sitcom gold via a main role on ABC’s What’s Happening Now!! (1985), the successful sequel to What’s Happening!! Following that role, she played Althea Tibbs, wife of Virgil Tibbs, on In the Heat of the Night (1988) and appeared in Robert Townsend‘s sleeper hit Hollywood Shuffle (1987). Anne-Marie’s funny side came out in a big way when she worked with Keenen Ivory Wayans in I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) and on the series In Living Color (1993). She even appeared briefly in the buff as a genetically engineered athlete in the sci-fi flick Robot Jox (1990). Only jeanetically-engineered viewers will be able to handle the hard-on induced by Anne-Marie’s caramel-colored keister. Later Anne-Marie played Alycia Barnett in Melrose Place (1995), Bobbi Latham in JAG (1997), Sharon Farley in Girlfriends (2003), Senator Knox on For the People (2018), and Lt.
